Decisions on submissions notified 19 November 2011
The Waikato District Council has notified the “Summary of Submissions” to Variation 16 of the Proposed Waikato District Plan: District Wide Growth and Rural and Coastal Subdivision, in accordance with Clause 7 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
The Council received 79 submissions from various organisations and individuals and the Summary of Decisions Requested by Submitters summarises the decisions requested or inferred from each submission. This is to enable people to quickly ascertain whether any submission might be of interest to them. It is not a substitute for inspecting the submission itself where the matter may be of interest.
If, after inspecting the summary, you wish to support or oppose any submission, then you may make a further submission as described below.
A further submission is a written statement made in support of or in opposition to another person’s original submission. It allows you an opportunity to assess the effect an original submission may have on you, and to have your views considered by Council alongside the original submission. A further submission must be limited to a matter in support of or in opposition to the relevant submission. You do not need to have made an original submission to be able to make a further submission, nor do you have to be a resident or ratepayer of the Waikato District.
How do I make a further submission?
The following persons may make a further submission:
- any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest; and
- any person that has an interest in the proposed variation greater than the interest that the general public has; and
- the Council itself.
Your further submission must include all the information required on RMA Form 6, which can be downloaded below. A further submission can only SUPPORT or OPPOSE a submission that is included in the summary. It should give detailed reasons for your viewpoint, stating your support or opposition. You cannot raise any new issues. Please be specific. Each original submission or part of a submission has been allocated a reference number and this number (eg Sub Ref 18.37) should be included as a reference in your own further submission.
