Summary

Council has received and publicly notified in the Waikato Times on Saturday 28 January 2012 and Hamilton Press on Wednesday 1 February 2012 a resource consent application by Schick Construction & Cartage Ltd. The proposal is to use the site as a depot to stockpile, store and process topsoil, aggregate, concrete and road seal, and to store construction equipment and machinery, at 435 (also known as 465) Gordonton Road, Rototuna.

Background

The proposal includes the stockpiling, storage and processing of topsoil and aggregate, concrete and road seal. These materials will be brought to the site from nearby construction sites and will be stockpiled for a period of time before being transported offsite and reused on other construction projects. The concrete and road seal materials will be processed by a rock crushing machine three to four times a year before being carted off site.

The proposal also includes the storage of a range of construction equipment and machinery such as diggers, dozers, dump trucks, loaders, scrapers, rollers, and tractor trailers. Access to the activity will be from an existing vehicle entrance off Gordonton Road.
