The public will have an extra month to provide feedback on Variation 15 of the Proposed Waikato District Plan, as Waikato District Council today extended the closing date for submissions.

Waikato District Council has completed an unscheduled discharge of treated wastewater through the Raglan harbour wastewater outfall pipe.

Due to high rainfall levels, Waikato District Council will today be undertaking an unscheduled discharge of treated wastewater outside the normal tidal periods.

Permits will no longer be required for rural fires in the Waikato District while an open fire season takes effect from 28 June 2010 until further notice.
 

Puke-i-aahua Pa Palisade Project Blessed (Wednesday, 16 June 2010)

Traditional Maori palisades, new signage and seating have enhanced the historic Puke-i-aahua Pa site which was blessed at a dawn ceremony on Monday 14 June, during Matariki, the Maori celebration of the new year.

Local Body Elections will take place this year on 9 October for the Waikato District.

Register dogs on time and save (Wednesday, 16 June 2010)

Dog owners can save at least 15 per cent on registration fees by registering their dog before 1 July 2010.
