Tsunami Alert cancelled (Monday, 1 March 2010)

The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management cancelled the national advisory at 8am this morning but advises people to exercise caution in harbours and coastal areas because some wave activity is continuing.

A sustained decrease in the amount of water being consumed throughout Hamilton and the Waikato District has seen the area’s water alert levels reduced to alert level 1 today.

Over 70 Waikato builders, plumbers and engineers recently attended a Waikato District Council workshop to hear about the new requirements under the Water Supply bylaw 2009.
