An agenda of each Waikato District Council meeting is prepared in order to structure and assist the decision making process in each meeting. The meeting agenda lists items to be discussed in each meeting in particular order of discussion. Minutes of each meeting are also recorded to provide a permanent record of what was discussed at each meeting. Members of the public can inspect the agenda and minutes of Council meetings.
What is an Agenda?
An agenda is a compilation of reports prepared by staff for the consideration of Council, a Committee or Community Board. Information and recommendations are included in the report to assist the Committee/Community Board in the decision making process.
To easily identify items, the agenda has an order paper, similar to a table of contents, which lists the items to be discussed and the order in which these items will be heard.
A printed version of the agenda is available for public inspection at the following locations:
- Ngaruawahia Office, 15 Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia
- Raglan Area Office, 7 Bow Street, Raglan
- Huntly Area Office, 142 Main Street, Huntly
- All Waikato District Council libraries

The Purpose of Minutes
Minutes are kept to provide a permanent record of what occurred at a meeting by way of a resolution (previously a recommendation in an Agenda report). A Committee/Community Board has the option to accept, reject, or modify a recommendation.
