The following projects are scheduled or underway in the district:

Raglan Wastewater Treatment Plant Rising Main Replacement and Ancillary Works

The works are practically complete. A project is underway to remove the old pipe from the estuary.  Now complete.

Key stakeholder consultation has continued and agreement reached to not have a hearing.  Consultation will commence with the four remaining individual submitters.

Huntly Triple Exeloo - Main Street, Huntly

The exeloos have been installed and modesty screens erected.  The works are now complete.

Physical works complete.  Final documentation issues are being resolved.

All works are now complete and commissioned.  Staff are currently collating as-built and asset data information.

The building works and external groundworks are now complete.  Minor issues  are being addressed. Museum opening is to be held on 20 February 2012.

The new project to provide a facility to accommodate the Twin Rivers Arts Centre is being considered alongside other community facilities.

This project has been deferred.

Project has now been deferred indefinitely due to buget issues.

Ngaruawahia Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Stage 1 of the works is now complete and operational. Stage 2 will commence late April 2012 to upgrade the exisiting filters and complete the upgrade. This work is due to be complete July 2012.

Huntly Wetland Upgrade Works

The scope for the Huntly Wetland works has changed. The project has now been combined with the upgrade works for the Ngaruawahia Wastewater Treatment Plant.  So far consultants have carried out initial investigations into options for ensuring that both plants meet the parameters of the new resource consents from WRC.  Iwi have been in consultation with Council regarding these options.  Once reviewed the next step will be progressed.

Huntly Water Treatment Plant - New Intake Structure

The contractor is progressing on site and should be finished May 2012.

Tuakau Lightbody Reserve New Changing Rooms

Funding for Stage 2 (fit out) was approved early April 2012.  The works are expected for completion in May 2012.

Swan Road Water Supply Extension

The tender has been awarded.  Work is due to commence on site in May 2012.

ump Station Replacement - Good Street, Matangi

The contractor has been appointed to install the pre package pump station, and is programmed to commence late April 2012.  Additonal funding has been approved.

Relocation of Lorenzen Bay Wastewater Pump Station

The contractor has established on site.  The works are due for completion June 2012.

Community Wide Water Metering

The works have commenced on site and are due to be complete June 2012.

New Community Centre, Meremere

Staff are preparing cost estimates based on different types and sizes of buildings to be considered by the stakeholders. A Community Committee meeting is planned for mid May 2012.

Southern Districts Reservoirs

Discussions with New Zealand Transport Authority have commenced to site one of the reservoir's on public land.  Investigation into the Newell Road site is progressing and will involve a designation process to site the reservoir on private property.

Te Kauwhata Land Purchase for Te Kauwhata Reservoirs

An agreement has been sent to the owners for the purchase of land.

Huntly Cemetery Expansion

Negotiations are underway with the adjoining southern landowner.  The project is expected to come in well under budget.

Replace water main - Carlton Street & Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia

The design is currently being reviewed.  The tender documents will be finalised once approved.

Ex Huntly Exeloo for Rangiriri

The land use and building consents have been lodged with Council and should be approved May 2012. The cost to install the toilet is estimated at $25,000 and should be installed June 2012.

A request for Expressions of Interest is out to tender and closes late January.

Raglan Replacement of Raglan Wharf Building

The works are progressing.  The works are due for completion in July 2012, subject to weather.

Raglan Provision of Wastewater Services to Whale Bay

The project is on hold awaiting further consultation with the affected community. A decision as to the future of the project will be sought June 2012.

Ngaruawahia Wetland Decommissioning and Building a Rock-lined Channel

This is a carry forward project.  Allocated funds of $44,968 from project brief 1WW10320.0111 have been transferred to this project and scope of project expanded to include on-site sludge disposal

Lake Puketirini Access Roads and Car Parks

East and west end earthworks and kerbing are largely complete. Ducting installed.

Raglan Springs Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

The project is planned to recommence soon to coincide with the Ministry of Health subsidy decision. The works should be complete this calendar year.

Pokeno Interceptor and Pump Station

The revised design approach is almost complete. It is expected that the tender documents will be advertised late April, closing May 2012. It is anticipated that the contract works will commence June 2012, subject to a successful tender period.

Kent Street/George Street (Ngaruawahia) - Flood Alleviation

The design is progressing, including geotech investigation. The works budget estimate is low in confidence and will be refined as  the design is finalised. Works are planned next financial year to coincide with a Roading project.
