Stage 1 of the works is now complete and operational. Stage 2 will commence late April 2012 to upgrade the exisiting filters and complete the upgrade. This work is due to be complete July 2012.
The scope for the Huntly Wetland works has changed. The project has now been combined with the upgrade works for the Ngaruawahia Wastewater Treatment Plant. So far consultants have carried out initial investigations into options for ensuring that both plants meet the parameters of the new resource consents from WRC. Iwi have been in consultation with Council regarding these options. Once reviewed the next step will be progressed.
The contractor is progressing on site and should be finished May 2012.
Funding for Stage 2 (fit out) was approved early April 2012. The works are expected for completion in May 2012.

Discussions with New Zealand Transport Authority have commenced to site one of the reservoir's on public land. Investigation into the Newell Road site is progressing and will involve a designation process to site the reservoir on private property.
An agreement has been sent to the owners for the purchase of land.
Negotiations are underway with the adjoining southern landowner. The project is expected to come in well under budget.
The design is currently being reviewed. The tender documents will be finalised once approved.
The land use and building consents have been lodged with Council and should be approved May 2012. The cost to install the toilet is estimated at $25,000 and should be installed June 2012.
A request for Expressions of Interest is out to tender and closes late January.
