Our vision
"To be a recognised leader in creating a district that prides itself on economic excellence, local participation and sustainable communities"
Waikato District Council is continuously developing a culture that looks to take a more business-like way of operating. The key focus is on staff and our customers, specifically our ratepayers, and how we can protect our rating position. We operate using best practice principles and ensure we are always looking at ways of doing things better. Staff members work closely with elected members to ensure alignment in governance and management decision making. We endeavour to take a project team approach to work rather than operating in silos. There are a number of great reasons to work at Council. We have a strong sense of purpose in what we do and we have a lively, enthusiastic workforce. Performance management and development is a critical part of our culture.
