Georgia Rowell

Librarian – Ngaruawahia Library

Georgia Rowell Libraries are more than books and no longer places where everyone has to be quiet. They are the hub of the community and busy information centres where people send emails, surf the net, read the paper, meet friends for a chat, do some quiet study or find the latest thriller.

My role is to manage the day-to-day operation of our library and ensure it is a welcoming environment with a proactive approach to customer care.

I have worked at Waikato District Council for 27 years. The reasons I enjoy working here are because the council is supportive and caring. There is a genuine interest in staff and opinions, the culture is quite unique for a work place, it is like a family and instills pride in your position.
