Pookeno Road Bridge, Footpath and  Road Widening

We're undertaking a flood prevention and resilience project that includes upgrading the Pookeno Road bridge.

This upgrade aims to strengthen and improve the bridge's capacity so it can keep up with the increasing level of traffic in the Pokeno area as well as installing a pedestrian walkway alongside the existing road.

Project Updates

November 2023 - Design and consenting is currently underway with physical works to start on site in early 2025. Conceptual bridge design has been completed.
