As well as the Council funding opportunities, there are also many funds available from various providers throughout our community for e.g. Trust Waikato, Lotteries, etc.  We provide a computer database called GivUs that will help you identify which funds may be of benefit to your project.

GivUs is available at Te Kauwhata, Huntly, Ngaruawahia, Tuakau and Raglan libraries and Waikato District Council's Ngaruawahia office. Plus it is now available online via our library database.

Community-Led Development Programme (CLDP)

People seeking government money for community projects can apply under a new programme.

The Community-Led Development Programme (CLDP) replaces the Community Development Scheme (CDS) and comes as a pilot ends on June 30.

The CLDP budget starts at $1 million in 2016-17, rising to $3.56 million in 2019-20.

During the same period the CDS will be phased out. All funding from the CLDP pilot and the CDS will be combined for the CLDP.

To seek further funding opportunities Council is now able to offer free online remote access to the online database givUs.

givUS offers access to more than 1,200 grants and schemes for communities, volunteer organisations, schools, groups, sport clubs and Iwi. Find assistance for nearly everything, including:

  • Operational costs
