Xtreme Zero Waste - Raglan

Te Hutewai Road Resource Recovery Centre has opened as of Thursday 14 May and will continue with normal opening hours (Monday – Friday 12.30pm – 5pm and Saturday - Sunday 10am -5pm  – no drop offs after 4.30pm). Please follow the Xtreme guidelines on site

Xtreme’s rural drop off at Te Mata and Te Uku has also resumed as of Thursday 14 May. All recycling needs to be washed clean please

All miniskips have been removed from the rural collection road ends, and the standard collection will start again next week.


  • Weekly collection of your refuse using the Xtreme Zero Waste prepaid 60L or 25L bags. Each bag must weigh no more than 15kg.

  • Weekly food waste collection run by Xtreme Zero Waste. For more information on the service and equipment visit,

  • Xtreme Zero Waste (XZW) is a community enterprise contracted by Council to operate the Raglan Resource Recovery Centre. Refuse dropped-off here costs $45 per cubic metre. Household items in good condition, oil, metal and household recycling can be dropped off for free.

  • In addition to running the above services, XZW also run: a Reuse Shop, Metal Yard and Wood Yard, E-cycle drop-off, Business Recycling, Consultancy, Zero Waste Education, Mentoring, Waste Audits and Site Tours. This organisation is turning Raglan’s waste into resources and diverting approximately 75% of refuse from landfill.
