At the moment shops can’t open on Easter Sunday unless they meet certain criteria. Due to a recent change in legislation councils can now develop a policy that will allow shops to open on Easter Sunday.
Waikato District Council is proposing to adopt an Easter Trading Policy, which will allow shops within our district boundary to open on Easter Sunday, apart from any off-licence premises selling alcohol.
We want to hear from you, even if you agree with the proposal, or if you told us your thoughts during the first round of consultation in October.
