Consultation Summary
The proposed bylaw was notified for public consultation on 28 October 2015, with submissions closing on 30 November 2015.
In total, 18 submissions were received on the proposed bylaw, with 11 submitters who were heard. Submitters commented on a variety of issues associated with the proposed bylaw including the placement of parking controls, management of public places and provision of services.
Staff and Council have considered each submission and have provided a response to each of the points raised.
Hearings/Deliberations
Hearings were held on 2 February in the Council Chambers in Ngaruawahia.
Council met again on 10 February 2016 to consider and make decisions on submissions.
Decisions
On 11 April 2016 Council adopted the Public Places Bylaw 2016 and subsequently revoked the following bylaws.
