Youth Action Groups

Members of the Huntly Youth Action Group, from left, China Timo, Shyann Timo, Waikato District Council Youth Engagement Advisor Shannon Kelly, Logan Cooter and Phoebe Comins.

We have youth action groups in Tamahere, Ngaruawahia, Huntly, Te Kauwhata, Tuakau, Onewhero, Pokeno, Meremere and Raglan.

Most groups meet monthly and are facilitated by the young people who get together to talk about issues impacting young people in their communities.

The youth action groups nominate two members to representative them at their local Community Board or Community Committee. They also plan projects and events that impact their communities, with support from the Waikato District Council and their community boards and committees.

If you would like to be involved, develop your leadership and governance skills, or get some event management or project management experience, fill out the form below.
