Tamahere residents are invited to help shape the future of their community at a family-friendly Community Open Day on Saturday 31 January 2026, from 3pm to 7pm, at the Tamahere Community Centre on Devine Road.
Hosted by the Tamahere Community Committee and Waikato District Council, the Open Day is a chance to learn more about several major projects and plans that are coming together in Tamahere, and to share your ideas about what matters most.
Topics on the day will include:
- Future options for the use and development of Tamahere Reserve
- Information about the proposed Tamahere Racecourse and equine development\
- Updates on Southern Links and wider transport planning
- Big picture opportunities, including what could be created at the Maniapoto Paa site
The Open Day is also a key step in developing Vision Tamahere 2075 – a long-term plan to guide growth and infrastructure over the next 50 years.
The event is designed to encourage open, constructive conversation and will be welcoming for the whole whaanau. BBQ facilities and surrounding fields will be available for picnic and play.
