Night time roadworks on Great South Road in Ngaaruawaahia have been rescheduled due to earlier delays caused by weather and a breakdown at the asphalt plant.
Works will now take place on Wednesday 1 April and Thursday 2 April, between 8:30pm and 6:00am.
The remaining work will focus on Great South Road between the southern end of the bridge and the intersection of Market Street, following the completion of works on Old Taupiri Road and Galbraith Street.
During these times, road closures will be in place overnight, with clearly signposted detours available. Local access to Old Taupiri Road and Galbraith Street will be maintained from the River Road side of the bridge where it is safe to do so.
These resurfacing works are part of Waikato District Council’s ongoing maintenance programme to improve road safety and extend the life of the road.
The timing of the works has been carefully planned around weather conditions and contractor availability, with the aim of completing the work efficiently and avoiding further disruption ahead of increased holiday traffic.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all on site signage.
