Huntly’s new free business growth service launching in May

Huntly township
Huntly businesses wanting to grow will now be able to take advantage of a free business support service, already successfully underway in Tuakau and Raglan.

The free service, located at the Huntly Library meeting room ‘Minds Meet Here’, is the result of a successful collaboration between Waikato District Council’s economic development team, Open Waikato, and Waikato Innovation Park.  The service will run on the second Tuesday afternoon of every month and bookings are still available for May.

“There are some great businesses in the Waikato district,” says Waikato Innovation Park business growth advisor Peter Davey. “I’m looking forward to meet with up-and-coming Huntly businesses with business growth goals but who need the right tools in order to reach them.”

Waikato District Mayor Allan Sanson says, “We’re proud to be able to provide this support to businesses in Huntly and surrounding areas to help boost economic growth and employment to our communities.

“On a personal note, it’s great to see this service now extending to Huntly as it happens to be my home town. Assisting local industries and businesses to thrive is what Open Waikato is all about.”

The hour-long sessions offer local businesses the opportunity to meet with a business growth advisor to discuss their growth aspirations and to get advice about the tools they need to get there.

The service, part of the innovation network available in Tuakau, Paeroa, Tokoroa, Hamilton, Raglan and now Huntly, offers start-ups and existing businesses advice on ways to seize growth opportunities; including exporting, capacity building, funding for research and development and how to deal with technical roadblocks.

Businesses who wish to book in for the service will need to be fast as May sessions are already being filled. Email info@openwaikato.co.nz to book or visit https://openwaikato.co.nz/contact/ for further information.
