Summer is here, and we’re inviting everyone to get out and play your way across the Waikato district. From lakes and walkways to skateparks, pools, playgrounds and hidden gems, there’s so much to enjoy right here in our own backyard.
Our Play Map is now live is an easy way to find local spots to splash, walk, bike, picnic, skate and explore. Discover lakes, pools, playgrounds, dog friendly areas, boat ramps, walkways and more, all in one simple map to help you plan your summer adventures.
Tamariki can join the fun too with the Waikato District Kids Summer Passport, available at all our libraries. Complete the activities, return the booklet, and receive your Summer Explorer Certificate. Keep an eye out…50 passports include a free child pool pass tucked inside!
And there’s more with a great prize is up for grabs. Kids who complete their Summer Passport and collect a certificate from one of our libraries before 28 February 2026 will go in the draw to win a skateboard kindly supported by Wrong Skate Shop in Raglan, plus safety gear (including a helmet) and a summer safety bundle.
