Work has started on a lighting renewal at the Whatawhata Tennis Courts, with a site blessing held last month marking the beginning of construction.
We have been working alongside Ngaati Maahanga to progress the project, with feedback helping shape the approach to delivering the renewal.
The project includes installation of new lighting, upgraded power connections and supporting infrastructure to improve the usability of the courts. Works will involve excavation, installation of a new switchboard, directional drilling and lighting installation. The design also allows for future connection to rugby field lighting.
While construction is underway, there may be some temporary disruption on site. Safety fencing and signage are in place, and we’ll continue to share updates as the project progresses.
This work is part of Council’s ongoing investment in local community facilities.
