Eureka and Matangi residents are being asked to cut back on water use, as current demand is higher than what can be supplied to local reservoirs.
Road resurfacing will take place on Great South Road, Ngaaruawaahia, from Sunday 22 to Thursday 26 March 2026 (weather dependent). The work will take place between the Princess Street/Newcastle Street intersection and River Road, and includes small sections of Old Taupiri Road and Galbraith Street. Pedestrian footpath access will be maintained at all times.
Within weeks, 200 Hamilton East households will receive water meters as part of an IAWAI pilot programme. Te Aakau is also included in the pilot, with 27 properties testing digital meters.
Council staff will be at the Turangawaewae Regatta this Saturday in Ngaaruawaahia. Come and have a chat with us, and cheer on the Council waka ama team.
