Don't let that old tech pile up – recycle your electronics the right way instead of throwing them away.
Meet us at Les Batkin Reserve, Tuakau on Saturday 16 May from 9:30am to 2pm and drop-off your broken, outdated, or unwanted electronics cluttering your place.
What you can bring:
- Computers, laptops, tablets
- Monitors, televisions
- Mobile phones and chargers
- Printers, scanners, fax machines
- Small household electronics (toasters, kettles, hairdryers, etc.)
What we can't take:
- Whiteware (fridges, freezers, washing machines)
- Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
- Batteries (unless a separate recycling point is provided)
- Large appliances and power tools
Recycling electronics helps stop harmful chemicals like lead, mercury, and cadmium from getting into the soil, water, and air. It also helps keep the community safe and clean.
This event is supported by funding from the Ministry for the Environment through the Waste MInimisation Fund, which helps reduce waste across the district
