Do you have old phones, computers, monitors and other e-waste that you've been meaning to get rid of?

We've partnered with Green Gorilla to hold a one-off e-waste drop-off and providing our communities an opportunity to dispose of unwanted electronic items.

The goal: To minimise the improper disposal of e-waste that can lead to soil, water, and air contamination from hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, and promote responsible waste management practices within the community.

  • Desktop and servers
  • Laptops/tablets
  • Modems, switches, routers, computer speakers
  • Data destruction per drive
  • UPS (Uninterrupted power supply)
  • Laptop battery provided without laptop

Printers

  • Printers/scanners/fax machine (up to 0.05m3)
  • Photocopiers
  • Photocopier toner and printer ink

Household appliances

  • Small appliances: drills, alarm clocks, phones, cameras, etc
  • Large garden tools: weed eaters, hedge trimmers, etc
  • Heaters and fans
  • Vacuums
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Microwaves

Consumer electronics

  • DVD and VCR players
  • Stereo systems, speakers and gaming consoles

Other

  • Mixed household batteries
  • Washing machines and dryers
  • Keyboards and docking stations

  • Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
  • Batteries (unless a separate recycling point is provided)

FAQs

Funding from the Ministry for the Environment has been placed into our Waste Minimisation Fund. This, not general rates, is used to fund waste minimisation initiatives throughout our district.

Yes. Please delete or wipe all personal data from computers, phones, and other storage devices before drop-off. The transfer station is not responsible for data security.

No, this event is for only households.
E-waste is collected and sent to an approved recycler where materials like metals, plastics, and glass are recovered, and hazardous components are safely handled.
You can bring e-waste anytime during the transfer station’s opening hours, please contact you preferred transfer station for cost, or during special free e-waste drop-off events if advertised.
