Project update

Water supply treatment extensions at Whangmarino are critical in servicing the Mid-Waikato, concompassing the communities of Te Kauwhata, Meremere, Rangiriri, and Whangamarino. With ongoing population growth across these areas, the existing WTP infrastructure requires significant extensions and upgrades to ensure the long-term security, reliability, and quality of the water supply.
Progress Update:
An expansion design for the Whangamarino Water Treatment Plant has been developed and scoped by Beca, outlining the preferred layout, treatment process upgrades, and infrastructure requirements to meet projected future demand. However, the progress of the project is currently contingent on successful land acquisition to accommodate the proposed extensions.
