Wi Neera Walkway - South End

Sea wall renewal along Wi Neera Walkway,  Scope includes assessing the existing sea wall and construction of a safe footpath the entire length from Jetty to Coat Guard street.

Project Update

August 2024 - Northern End - Sea Wall repairs were completed in November, arborist work has been completed to remove several low hanging branches and Watercare have completed the replacement of the old watermain feeding across to Papahua.  Construction onsite has seen all the concrete footpath poured with the path now open with temporary balustrades in place.  Half the final balustrades are now in place, the balance are due to be installed in the next 10 days.  The project will finish onsite in early September.
