Calling For Expressions of Interest in a Community Lease – Waipa Esplanade Reserve, Ngaruawahia

Waikato District Council invites written expressions of interest from community groups interested in leasing the Waipa Esplanade Reserve in Ngaruawahia.

To be eligible to apply, a group must be an incorporated society or a charitable trust and meet the criteria of the current Council leasing policy.  All applications must outline the detail of the proposed use of the site, including any proposed changes to the land, and must include evidence of being a society or trust and have one person responsible for communication with Council.

The land has previously been used as grounds for a pony club however proposed uses are not limited to this. The land is classified as Recreation Reserve and as such is subject to the Reserves Act 1977 section 54 – “Leasing powers in respect of recreation reserves’.

Waikato District Council reserves the right to seek proposals and applications from other parties in addition to those who respond to this invitation, and to accept or reject any application.
