Notification of the Waikato District Council Long Term Plan 2021-31 Consultation Document

Waikato District Council is working on budgets and planning for our community’s development over the next 10 years with their vision of liveable, thriving and connected communities in our growing district.

We’ve identified three issues on which we need your feedback to help us work towards our vision, and to achieve the community outcomes we all want. These are:

  • Our general rates increases – should we go hard and early or take a cautious approach?
  • Should we sell our pensioner housing portfolio to a responsible social housing provider?
  • Should we continue to provide the kerbside inorganic collection service?

From 7 April, copies of the Long Term Plan 2021-31 Consultation Document will be available to view online, and in our offices and libraries.  We are also attending community meetings and events and will be keen to talk to you, answer your questions, and hear what you have to say.  See the Consultation Document for meeting or event dates in your area.

Details on how you can give your feedback and make a submissions online, in person, by email, or using a hardcopy submission form can be found on our website www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/sayit

We need to hear from you by 5pm 7 May 2021.

We will hold hearings the week of 24 May 2021.  If you’d like to speak about your written submission at the hearing, please indicate this clearly in your submission.
