Notice is hereby given that Waikato District Council is permanently closing the intersection of Newell Road and Cambridge Road to all traffic from 7 July 2022.
Tamahere residents travelling into Hamilton will need to access Alfred Main Drive via Birchwood Lane.
Tamahere residents travelling northbound or southbound on the expressway will need to use the Tamahere Interchange at SH21.
The intersection has been closed for safety reasons, and follows a public consultation held in 2018 when 55% of respondents agreed with the closure, while 45% were in favour of keeping the intersection open.
