Road closures for Targa Bambina Tarmac Rally

Notice is hereby given that Waikato District Council, for allowing Club Targa Inc to hold the Targa Bambina 2024 tarmac rally, will temporarily close a number of roads in the district on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March 2024. 

The only changes from the proposed list of roads to be closed are:

- in the Mangatawhiri/Mangatangi area, where only Monument Road will be closed following significant community concerns about the original proposal mainly to do with the proposed closure of Mangatangi Road.

- in the Huntly area, where Rotowaro Road will not be used and remain open due to clashes with mining operations.

7.25am to 1.25pm (Maramarua area)

Coalfields Road (250m from Finlayson Road intersection)

Kopuku Road (full length)

8am to 2pm (Mangatawhiri/Mangatangi area)

Monument Road (to Miranda Road intersection)

12.30pm to 6.30pm (rural Huntly area)

Hetherington Road (from Okowhao Road intersection to Waikokowai Road intersection)

Waikokowai Road (full length)

1.20pm to 7.20pm (Waiterimu area)

Storey Road (full length)

Waiterimu Road (from Storey Road intersection to Waikare Road intersection)

Sunday 17 March 2024

7.25am to 1.25pm (Orini area)

Rutherford Road (from Welch Road intersection to Orini Road intersection)

Orini Road (to Tenfoot Road intersection)

Tenfoot Road (to Henry Road intersection)

For the period of closure the roads will be manned at intersections by clearly identifiable marshals equipped with radio communication and access will be provided in the event of an emergency.
