Updated 16 June: Contractors have assessed the extent of work required from last week’s seismic assessment. Factoring in design work needed for repairs, it will take three weeks to complete the job.
While the library is closed, the following services will be offered from our office on Galileo Street, Ngaauawaahia.
- Catalogue searches
- Membership requests and queries
- Click and collect holds service via our website
- Help with ordering items
- Book returns over the counter
- Receiving Matariki competition forms
- Payment of library charges
- Printing and scanning.
You can still use the book drop located outside of the Ngaaruawahia library or visit one of our other libraries for all other services.
The last time the building was seismically assessed was in 2016.
Since then, there have been changes in design and assessment standards of some aspects of the assessment process.
This latest assessment uncovered work needed on beams and post installed anchors to bring the building up to current standards.
We acknowledge the disruption this may cause - we will resume normal service as soon as possible.
