Library membership is free to Waikato District Council ratepayers and residents.
There are six libraries located in the Waikato district – Huntly, Meremere, Ngaruawahia, Raglan, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata.
Our libraries offer many free services and resources, such as borrowing books, internet access, a winter reading programme for primary school aged children and Toddler Time. We also have a great selection of DVDs and magazines that are available for a small charge (children's magazines are free).

We have reciprocal membership rights, where residents of other districts can join Waikato District Libraries free of charge, and Waikato District residents can join those Councils' libraries free of charge if they wish. These districts are Hamilton City, Waikato District, Matamata-Piako District and Hauraki District
All members of the public are welcome to use our services. For information on the responsibility of library users, refer to Parents Responsibilities and our Code of Conduct.
