A bylaw is a rule or regulation made by a Local Authority such as the Waikato District Council. The Local Government Act 2002 empowers a local authority to make bylaws on a diverse range of subjects. Some other Acts also empower local authorities to make bylaws on specific topics.
Waikato District Council will administer both Franklin and Waikato bylaws side by side until a decision with regard to the Franklin bylaws has been made.
