We will check that the application form is completed in full and supported with the appropriate documentation. If not, the application will not be accepted (we will explain the reasons why it has been declined).
If the application is accepted, we will start the 20-day clock. We have 20-working days to process the application and either issue or refuse the CCC. We may request further information during this process. If we do, then the clock will stop until such time as the information is provided.
The BCA will issue the Code Compliance Certificate if it is satisfied, on reasonable grounds, that the building work complies with the building consent and Building Code; and that:
- in a case where a compliance schedule is required because of the building work, the specified systems in the building can perform to the performance standards set out in the building consent; or
- in a case where an amendment to an existing compliance schedule is required because of the building work, the specified systems that are being altered in, or added to, the building during the building work can perform to the performance standards set out in the building consent.
If the project is a commercial building with specified systems, the Compliance Schedule will be issued on the same day as the Code Compliance Certificate.
If there are any outstanding fees, these must be paid before the CCC will be issued.
