Council meetings include a Public Forum at the start of the agenda, giving members of the public an opportunity to speak directly to elected members about matters that are important to them.

You can request to speak at an upcoming Council meeting by completing the online form below.

How it works

  • Speakers are allocated up to 5 minutes.
  • Public Forum will be held at the beginning of certain Council meetings.
  • You may attend in person or online, depending on your preference and meeting arrangements.
  • Speakers are expected to be respectful, stay on topic, follow the Chair’s direction, and comply with Council meeting procedures.
  • The Public Forum is an opportunity to raise matters - it is not a debate, and councillors may choose whether or not to respond at the meeting.

Upcoming meetings

  • A meeting of the elected full Waikato Distriict Council.

The Council endorses recommendations made at committee meetings and in addition makes decisions on matters that are not delegated to committees.

Council meets on a six-weekly cycle.
