The new community facility in Huntly West has officially opened. Te Whare Awhi is a place of care, support and connection. It was built for the people of Huntly, by local company BUILTsmart. The land, on a section of the Huntly West Domain reserve, was provided by Council via a long-term lease.

Changes are proposed for alcohol ban areas across the Waikato district

We’re proposing changes to our Alcohol Control Bylaw. The Bylaw outlines where and when people can drink alcohol in public areas. It is used by NZ Police to respond to alcohol- related anti-social behaviour and incidents in public places.
