  • Toddler time is an interactive programme with stories, crafts, and sometimes music as well.

    Local pre-schools can arrange a toddler time visit but you will need to contact your local library well in advance.

    Toddler Time runs on Mondays and Fridays at 10.30am from our Meremere library.

    No need to book, just turn-up to one of the sessions listed below.

  • Come and join in the fun at our awesome LEGO club!

    At our LEGO Club sessions children will be given a theme to build their creation – imagination and open-ended play improves literacy and language skills and aids a child’s development.

    Suitable for primary aged children – we also have DUPLO available for smaller kids.

    LEGO Club at our Meremere Library runs on the first and third Friday of each month (during school term), 3.30-4.30pm.

    No sign up required, just turn up on the day!

  • Pop along to the board games club at Ngaaruawaahia Library at 10am on the third Saturday monthly.

    Play a selection of modern board games that are suitable for families, teens and adults.

  • Come and join in the fun at our awesome LEGO club.

  • This is a self-lead programme for Whaanau to engage with the community and our library resources books, games, toys, puzzles, etc, to socialise & engage with others in our library space.

    The intention is for this to be an unstructured time to have fun in the library with whaanau and meet others in the community. The resources we have are available anytime and we will encourage participants to ask staff when they want to use them.

  • Come in and make a paper heart with a special message for someone you love.

  • Kids aged 0 – 5 can join us to play with LEGO DUPLO! DUPLO blocks are large, colourful building blocks designed for younger children.

    As well as being great fun, DUPLO teaches problem-solving skills, creativity, teamwork, and helps to develop fine motor skills.

    Come and join in on the fun, no booking required. Children must be supervised

  • Sarah C is a beekeeping educator, bringing the exciting world of honeybees into classrooms across the Waikato. 

    Come and join her for some honeybee fun, see real live bees up close, try on a beekeeping suit, and see if you can figure out the honeybee lifecycle with her extra large bee models. 

    If you or your Tamariki have an interest in honeybees or insects in general, come down for a hands-on interactive talk with local beekeeper Sarah C.

  • Join us for a hands-on activity where you’ll create your very own seed tapes - perfect for easy planting at home.

    Simply roll out, water, and watch your garden grow!

    A great way to learn about seeds, gardening, and a little eco-friendly crafting. Suitable for all ages.
