Upcoming events

  • Unleash your creativity, one craft at a time! Join our monthly teen arts and crafts session to create, connect and have fun!

    Ideal for 13-17 year olds.

    Bring your creativity, we will supply the rest! 

  • Play a selection of modern board games that are suitable for families, teens and adults.

  • Craft a colourful butterfly with delicate crepe paper and let your imagination soar! A fun, free activity for all ages. 


  • Share a story and explore it further with a hands-on craft.

    A great way to build early literacy and creativity.

  • Scavenger hunt pictures are hidden around the library. Participants find them and write down the number on each picture. 

    On completion they receive an activity booklet and stickers.

  • Fun activities for all ages including sensory toys, DUPLO, puzzles and boardgames.

  • This is a self-lead programme for Whaanau to engage with the community and our library resources books, games, toys, puzzles, etc, to socialise & engage with others in our library space.

    The intention is for this to be an unstructured time to have fun in the library with whaanau and meet others in the community. The resources we have are available anytime and we will encourage participants to ask staff when they want to use them.

  • Upcycling bottles and cans as seed pots. Participants will receive a seed to identify and take home to plant.

  • Want to share your favourite reads with fellow book lovers?

    Book chat is a monthly get together for people who love reading and are keen to hear about new great reads.  

    There is no need to register. Just turn-up to one of the monthly sessions.

    Book Chat at our Tuakau Library runs on the last Wednesday of each month (except December and January) at 1.30pm.

  • Kids aged 0 – 5 can join us to play with LEGO DUPLO! DUPLO blocks are large, colourful building blocks designed for younger children.

    As well as being great fun, DUPLO teaches problem-solving skills, creativity, teamwork, and helps to develop fine motor skills.

    Come and join in on the fun, no booking required. Children must be supervised.

  • Create a colourful flower using soft, vibrant yarn!

    This fun and easy craft is perfect for budding artists of all ages. Free to attend—come and make something beautiful!

  • Join the fun at LEGO Club! Build a creation inspired by a different theme for each session, using your imagination and creativity. Suitable for primary-aged children, with DUPLO available for younger kids.

    At our LEGO Club sessions children will be given a theme to build their creation – imagination and open-ended play improves literacy and language skills and aids a child’s development.

    LEGO club is suitable for primary aged children – we also have DUPLO available for smaller kids.

    There is no need to register. Just turn up to one of the sessions listed below.
