Roads being resealed this summer

Our resealing schedule lists all the roads in the Waikato district we are planning to reseal this summer from October to March.

Council decides which roads to reseal and when. We then work with contractors to programme and deliver the works.

Why we reseal the roads

Council reseals roads to:

  • waterproof and protect the road
  • prevent potholes
  • create a smoother surface
  • reduce future repair costs

How we decide which roads to reseal

We prioritise which roads to reseal based on:

  • damage
  • age
  • daily traffic
  • the types and weight of vehicles using the road

When new conditions or information comes up, we change which roads we prioritise.

Resealing schedule

Look for your local area to see which roads we are resealing and when.

Be aware: All dates are tentative. The timing of works may change due to weather conditions, workloads in other areas, or unforeseen factors.

Check back for the summer 2026/2027 schedule

Our summer 2025-2026 resealing works have finished. Our summer 2026-2027 resealing schedule will be available on this page once we have it confirmed.
