Te Kauwhata Licensing Trust by-election

As a result of a recent resignation, an extraordinary vacancy has occurred in the Te Kauwhata Licensing Trust and a by-election is now required to fill the vacancy.

The by-election for the one vacancy will be held on Tuesday 1 August 2023. It will be conducted by postal vote. The first past the post (FPP) electoral system will be used for the by-election.

How can I be nominated? Nominations for these positions will open on Monday 8 May 2023 and close at noon on Tuesday 6 June 2023.

To be eligible to stand for election, a candidate must be:

  • enrolled as a Parliamentary elector; and
  • reside in the Te Kauwhata Licensing Trust area; and
  • nominated by two electors whose names appear on the electoral roll within the Te Kauwhata Licensing Trust area.
